All this while I had been exploring and promoting tourism in nature and geographical sectors. This time I decided to explore Spiritual Tourism.
Yoga and Meditation are known to originate in INDIA and being an Indian how could I miss the opportunity of not traveling to spiritual spots. That’s how I landed at Isha Yoga Foundation.
It is situated at the foothills of Vellyangiri hills , 30 Kms away from Coimbatore. On reaching the spot one can visit the Adiyogi statue surrounded by lush green hills of the western ghats.
The Adiyogi statue depicts the Hindu deity Shiva . This has been recognized as the “Largest Bust Sculpture” in the world by Guinness World Records. Designed by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, founder of the Isha Foundation, it was built by the foundation and weighs around 500 tonnes
Sadhguru defined that the statue is for inspiring and promoting yoga, and is named Adiyogi, which means “the first yogi” because Shiva is known as the originator of yoga. The statue has been included as a consecration destination by Ministry of Indian Tourism in its official Incredible India campaign.
The main Yoga center is situated near the Adiyogi statue which has Dhyanalingam also known as the meditation center. The only place in entire India which is geographically situated at 11 degrees latitude from the equator and has a great Spiritual significance.
There are scientific reasons to be at this latitude. People who are longing to raise their energies to its highest pitch must visit this place.
Why this is so is – the planet is moving in an anticlockwise direction. Anything that spins creates a certain force which is called the ‘centrifugal’ force. It is happening in so many ways. At 11 degrees, when the planet is spinning, we are dead vertically. Our energies are shooting straight up because of the centrifugal force. That’s why we are asked to keep our head straight and sit while meditating which naturally pushes up the energies at this place.
It is personally recommended to visit Dhyanalingam and meditate for at least 15 minutes to connect with our inner self. People from different nations across the globe visit ISHA yoga foundation to experience the higher level of consciousness and awaken the Kundalini Shakti.
I could not capture pictures inside the centre as photography is strictly prohibited which I think is a good move as many people just involve themselves in getting clicked and miss out the real meaning and benefits the foundation has to offer.
Do visit the ISHA YOGA Foundation to experience peace, tranquility, and spiritualism.
